Slightly colder pattern sets in for Northern Plains, but no big storms

The jet stream is shifting farther south, bringing some cold weather into the Northern Plains. But it's still not frigid, and the forecast isn't showing much in the way of snow for the region.

Meteorologist John Wheeler doesn't see anything in the way of big snowstorms in the Northern Plains for the next two weeks. So, if we're going to have a white Christmas, it's going to have to come by way of light systems, he says.

The chillier temperatures that moved in recently are here to stay, Wheeler says in his agriweather forecast on AgweekTV. But the really frigid Arctic air isn't expected in the Northern Plains during the two-week forecast period.
