BIRD ISLAND, Minn. -- A 53-year-old rural Bird Island, Minn., man died Saturday evening in a farm accident, according to a report from the Renville County Sheriff's Office.
Jonathan Dean Roker, 53, was reportedly attempting to place a dual tire on a tractor when the tire fell on top of him. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 77662 County Road 5, about two miles south of Bird Island in Bird Island township.
The accident was reported at 6:35 p.m. Saturday. An investigation is continuing, according to the release.
Assisting the Renville County Sheriff's Office at the scene were the Bird Island Fire Department, Bird Island Medical Response Unit, Olivia Ambulance and North Memorial Air Care.
