Fargo South senior kicker Landon Docken announced his commitment to continue his academic and football careers at the University of North Dakota.

Docken announced his commitment on social media Thursday night.

The Bruins senior was the only kicker to earn all-conference honors last season and remains perfect on field goal and extra point attempts this season

Trey Lance had his season end Sunday when his right ankle was trapped underneath a pile of Seahawks, breaking it.

Meanwhile, Carson Wentz has a reunion this weekend.

Wentz on his third team in Washington, faces Philadelphia, the team that traded away five draft picks to get him and face the guy Jalen Hurts, who just diced up the Vikings, who replaced him.

Fargo North basketball star is turning heads on the football field

Fargo North football is 4-0 and the Spartans are getting ready for a rivalry game against South. Yeah, Dana and Kerstin. There was some uncertainty at North after graduating two all-state receivers, but they’ve turned to an unexpected to fill those shoes.

Quick turnaround for NDSU Bison as they jump into conference games this week

NDSU football wrapped up its non-conference schedule at Arizona on Saturday. They arrived back in Fargo at 7 a.m. on Sunday. It's a quick turnaround as they open Missouri Valley conference play Saturday against South Dakota.

This is the first time since 2010 that NDSU has gone from non-conference to conference games without a bye week in between.

Saturday's North Dakota State football game with the University of Arizona will have double meaning for one football family.

The Weerts' of Batavia, Illinois have had this game circled on the calendar for the better part of two and a half years.

Luke is a senior linebacker at NDSU, who has played since his freshman year. His younger brother Matt, who goes by the nickname Mojo, is a redshirt freshman linebacker. At Arizona.

Six years to the date since this magical moment happened for NDSU football, the Bison return to the FBS spotlight.

This matchup with Arizona will be unlike any of the previous 9 games with the big boys simply because of location.

From Minnesota to Iowa, 8 of the 9 games have been against midwest teams. The exception is Wyoming, who plays a similar style of football.

Three basketball stars transform Shanley's football team

Shanley football is 3-0 and leads the EDC in passing yards, thanks in part to some basketball stars who are back on the football field.

Wide receivers Vuciri Hakim, Kaden Christmann, and Conner Kraft hadn’t played football in two years, stepping away to focus on basketball.

“These three basketball kids have really transformed our team this year," said head coach Troy Mattern. “Anytime we lose any kid for whatever reason, we don’t like that.

Bison look forward to their first FBS game in six years at Arizona

NDSU football's game at Arizona this week is the first FBS matchup for the Bison since upsetting Iowa in 2016. NDSU is 9-3 against FBS opponents and has won six straight against those teams.

They'll face a 1-1 Arizona team that's coming off a loss to Mississippi state. Although the coaches are the only people on the team to face an FBS opponent, they're hoping to pass their experience down to their players.

 

Matt Cullen takes on new role on the other side of the ice

Matt Cullen has joined the Fargo Force's ownership group, the team announced Wednesday.

Cullen is a Moorhead graduate who played 21 NHL seasons with eight teams and is a three-time Stanley Cup champion. He will assume a minority stake in the organization and will play a major role in shaping team values and player/coach development, the team said in a statement.

Central Cass football has high expectations this season

The Central Cass Squirrels started the year ranked fourth in 11B after a 9-2 finish last season.

After a convincing 34-14 win over Oak Grove, they were upset by Oakes 14-22 in the second week of play.

A big 49-25 win over Northern Cass put Central Cass back on track Friday.
