That the weather will turn colder in November is inevitable. November is a raw, windy, and overcast time of year.  Even at its mildest, November is chilly compared to September and October.  From the first day of November through the last, the average high temperature drops from 46 to 27 degrees. The average low drops from 27 to 11.  Five weeks deom today, record highs will be in the 50s and record lows will range from 15 to 25 below, suggesting that any warm spell will be rather cool and any cold spell will be frigid.  And whereas we sometimes get a little snow in October, we almost always have snow in November.  November is not always cold enough for the snow which falls to remain through the winter, but it is not at all unusual for it to do so.  By late November, the typical range of weather conditions we experience would classify as hard winter in most inhabited places on earth.
