Like some of you, I’ve heard a lot in recent years about urban farming, aka urban agriculture. But there’s no consensus in what I’m hearing.
To its supporters, urban farming is wonderful. They say it can supply a hungry world with lots of high-quality food.
To its critics, urban farming is nothing more than a glorified garden. They say it’s a trendy concept, not a meaningful solution.
My knowledge of urban farming is hardly extensive. So my best quess - that while urban ag has a legitimate role, it will be never be a major player - is subject to change.
I’m making an honest effort to learn more about something with which I’m largely unfamiliar. Any honest effort to educate me about urban ag - it’s benefits and potential or lack thereof - would be appreciated.
