One of my firmest convictions is that all of us, both in and out of ag, have a tendency to seek out information that reinforces and confirms what we already believe. It’s called confirmation bias, myside bias and living in the echo chamber. My most recent  column  stressed the need for aggies to avoid it.

Since it ran, I’ve received a number of comments from aggies who agree with me. Several of them added, “Some people in ag won’t like it, though. Have you heard any complaints?”

No, not so far, anyway. But I’m working on my next column - one that addresses what I think is another common mistake that aggies make - and I suspect that one will catch some flack. If it does, I’ll let you know.
