A fitting goodbye for a farmer

ARTHUR, N.D. — Friends of a North Dakota farmer gave him a fitting goodbye on Friday, parking a line of farm machinery across from the cemetery on the day of his funeral.

John Williams, managing partner of Williams Farms, Director and Vice President of The Arthur Mercantile, First State Bank of North Dakota and First Financial Corporation and director of Agri Valley Insurance Agency and First State Agency of LaMoure, died on Oct. 11 from cancer. You can read his obituary here.

Williams' funeral was held Friday morning at Arthur United Methodist Church, and friends tell Agweek they brought the machinery as a tribute to him.
