RENVILLE, Minn. -- Investigators are looking into the death of a worker at a sugar beet plant in southern Minnesota Thursday.
Renville County deputies were called to the Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative, located approximately two miles east of the City of Renville, shortly before 3 p.m.
Once on the scene first responders found a 60 year old male who had been run over by a payloader. Visibility was poor at the time of the accident due to wind blowing beet pulp around the plant.
The victim died from his injuries. His name is being withheld to allow for notification of his family.
The Renville County Sheriff's Office and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will continue investigating the case.
