It may be spring on the calendar, but it was chilly in April in the Northern Plains

"We have still been fairly cold these first few days of May," meteorologist John Wheeler said on this week's Agriweather Forecast on AgweekTV.

But Wheeler expects the cold to retreat; warmer air will move in, bringing temperatures up to the 70s or maybe even 80s this week. It might cool down a bit in the second week of the forecast.

The warmer air could bring chances of showers or thunderstorms, but Wheeler expects most of the storms to stay south.
