Such a mild start to November we are having! This weather is unusual but not without precedent.

Various weather stations across the region have broken a few record highs this month, but many old records remain.

In addition to this year, many of the standing early November records come from 2010 along with one from 2006 and one from 2005.

The year, 1999, is especially well represented. There is one from 1990, one from 1981, and several from the 1970s. The 1030s are also well-represented, with standing records in November from 1939 and 1937.

A few rogue records from other years still exist. The last early November record high from the 1800s for Fargo fell last Sunday.

The point is, this sort of record-setting weather this time of year is not a new thing. It can be said, however, that temperatures in the 60s and 70s in early November are occurring with increasing frequency as the climate warms.
