Last week and especially last weekend brought us some delightfully mild early spring weather. Lots of records were broken.
Many people wondered if there had ever been such weather in March. Well, there has and it was just three years ago. March of 2012 broke far more records than March of 2015 will break.
The warmest monthly average temperature record was smashed. Six daily high records were broken. Seven daily minimum records were broken. Most remarkable was that the all-time March record for a daily minimum temperature was bested four times, eventually being reestablished at 60 degrees on March 18, breaking the old record by twelve degrees.
Can you imagine an overnight low tonight of 60 degrees? That is what tomorrow morning's low was three years ago.
And in case you are wondering, following that mid-to-late March warm spell, snow did not fall again during the spring of 2012.
