With the weather warming up the next few days, it is apparent the month of March will finish about seven degrees warmer than average.
Even though most of us were disappointed in the weather, it was probably the early warmth (75 degrees March 15) that spoiled us.
It has been an up and down winter. February was about seven degrees colder than average. January and December were both about seven degrees warmer than average. November was six degrees colder than average.
Within these up and down months were numerous shorter up or down periods. Had there been more snowfall, the winter would likely have been much colder overall, with a bit less variety as the snow cover would have greatly moderated the warmest periods.
