HALLOCK, MN (WDAZ-TV) - Some fresh produce turned into an 8-legged surprise for a couple from Kittson County.

A Hallock couple found a scorpion climbing on their walls.

Richard and Peggy Gjovik say it likely came from a case of peaches they bought at a local grocery store. They would not identify which store.

The couple says they were walking to bed a few nights ago when they spotted it near the bedroom doorway.

Instead of killing it, they put it in a plastic container. Even though they caught it, they say it has made for some sleepless nights.

"It was a long night, it was a very long night,” said Peggy. “I did not sleep. I just thought, are there more in the house? Are they already in my bedroom? And I just did not sleep."

An exterminator has since fogged their home. The scorpion is still alive. The Gjoviks say if anyone wants it as a pet, they can have it.
