Upper Midwest farmers and ranchers are always busy during the growing season. Their to-do list include meeting U.S. Department of Agriculture deadlines.
Here’s a look at some of the upcoming deadlines for USDA programs:

July 15 - Spring acreage reports: For all crop planted in the spring. Reporting is necessary to be eligible for any program for which you may qualify.
Aug. 1 - 2016ARC/PLC contracts: Last day to sign your contract if you’re enrolled in the program.
Aug. 1 - Nominations for Farm Service Agency county committee elections: Nomination forms and more information are available at county FSA offices.
Sept. 30 - Non-Insured Crop Disaster Assistance Program: Program for perennial hay, grazing and fall-seeded crops not covered by federal crop insurance.
Sept. 30 - Emergency Livestock Assistance Program: If you’ve hauled water to livestock that’s normally watered by spring or another source, USDA may have a program. Let the ag department know before the deadline so it can better help.
