BISMARCK – The North Dakota Department of Agriculture (NDDA) will be hosting two town hall meetings to discuss their pipeline restoration and reclamation program on Tuesday, Nov. 15. The meetings are at 10 a.m. in Minot at the North Central Research Extension Center, 5400 Highway 83 South, and at 2 p.m. at the Watford City Civic Center, 213 2nd St. NE.

“This is an opportunity for North Dakota farmers, ranchers, landowners, tenants and others who need assistance in working with pipeline companies to learn about the pipeline restoration and reclamation program,” says Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring. “The program can help resolve land surface issues and concerns after the installation of oil, gas or water pipelines.”

Commissioner Goehring will lead the free meetings and will be available for questions. The public is invited to attend.

The pipeline restoration and reclamation program provides assistance through an ombudsman to resolve reclamation complaints. The program also provides educational outreach to help landowners/tenants consider such things as pipeline pathways, type of pipeline installation, soil impacts, type of vegetation being reestablished, timelines and other issues before signing agreements.
