MInnesota Department of Agriculture Commissioner Dave Frederickson, Senator Torrey Westrom, Representative Paul Anderson and Assistant Commissioner Matt Wohlman visited with Brad and Suzanne Vold at Dorrich Dairy in Glenwood on Dec. 7 as part of a tour of two Minnesota Ag Water Quality Certification Program (MAWQCP) certified farms.
They also visited Redhead Creamery in Brooten. The Volds, in partnership with Brad's parents, Richard and Dorothy Vold, and brother and wife, Greg and Charity Vold, operate the dairy that is home to 400 Holstein and Holstein-Jersey cross cows on 600 acres of farmland. Dorrich Dairy received an Outstanding Dairy Farm Sustainability Award from the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy in May. It was MAWQCP certified in September.
