Semi tips over, spilling fertilizer along Highway 23 outside Willmar

WILLMAR -- A 2001 Freightliner semitractor and trailer, hauling dry fertilizer, overturned at the state Highway 23 and Kandiyohi County Road 5 intersection, spilling part of its load.

WILLMAR - A 2001 Freightliner semitractor and trailer, hauling dry fertilizer, overturned at the state Highway 23 and Kandiyohi County Road 5 intersection, spilling part of its load.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the driver Aaron Michael Wubben, 24, of Blomkest, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Wubben was wearing his seatbelt.

The State Patrol report said the semi was eastbound at approximately 12:59 p.m. Thursday on Highway 23, in the left lane so it could turn left onto County Road 5. The semi overturned, rolling onto its right side. Dry fertilizer was spilled from the trailer.

Assisting the state patrol were the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office, Willmar Fire Department and Willmar Ambulance.
