BROOKINGS, S.D. -- South Dakota State University's College of Agriculture & Biological Sciences has appointed Lora Duxbury Berg as director of marketing and communications, pending approval from the Board of Regents. As director, Duxbury Berg will lead public and media relations efforts in the College of Agriculture & Biological Sciences and will be involved in all aspects of marketing and communications. Duxbury Berg is a 1988 alumnus of SDSU. She received her bachelor's degree agricultural journalism and, in 1998, completed her master's degree from SDSU in journalism and mass communications. She was raised on a Hurley, S.D., farm where her dad, Ralph, raised purebred Berkshire hogs, cattle, sheep, corn and soybeans and her mom, Lois, worked as a Turner County (S.D.) Extension Agent. Duxbury Berg previously served as editor of National Hog Farmer magazine.
