Prairie Roots co-op given $100,000 grant challenge

FARGO - A local man has issued a $100,000 matching-grant challenge to Prairie Roots Food Co-op to help members of the planned organic grocery store reach their fundraising goal of $1.1 million, the co-op announced Thursday, June 16.

FARGO - A local man has issued a $100,000 matching-grant challenge to Prairie Roots Food Co-op to help members of the planned organic grocery store reach their fundraising goal of $1.1 million, the co-op announced Thursday, June 16.

The challenge was issued by retired attorney Tom Wold, the co-op said in a news release.

Prairie Roots must raise $100,000 and sign up 150 new members before Aug. 1 to meet the challenge.

The Prairie Roots OWN IT! Capital campaign has raised more than $800,000 to be put toward opening a new grocery store at the corner of University Drive and NP Avenue in downtown Fargo.

The co-op already has about 1,050 members
