'Organic Matter Matters' event set

BISMARCK, N.D. – The 2017 Northern Prairies Ag Innovation Alliance (NPAIA) Workshop and Trade Show is scheduled for Jan. 10-11, 2017, at the Grand Hotel in Minot, N.D. The theme of this year’s event is “Organic Matter Matters.”  

 

The event’s keynote speakers include Dr. Dan Davidson, a farmer, agronomist and journalist whose columns appear on DTN Ag/Progressive Farmer, and Gabe Brown, an innovative, international producer. Other speakers include Dr. Dave Franzen, Lisa Prassack, Dr. Yvonne Lawley, and Dr. Rick Haney. A Soils 101 workshop, strip till producer panel, Haney Test producer panel, and innovative equipment panel discussion complete the agenda. In addition, there will be exhibitors, RAP sessions, a beer and bull session, and the inaugural Prairie Innovators Challenge, which is a chance for producers to showcase their innovative practice, equipment, or idea.

 

Northern Prairies Ag Innovation Alliance, formerly known as Manitoba North Dakota Zero Tillage Farmers Association, has held the annual workshop and tradeshow for nearly 40 years.  Pre-registration for the event is available through Wednesday, Dec. 28, and costs $195. “The workshop and tradeshow are a great opportunity for producers and professionals to come together to share ideas and strategies for improving soil health, as well as learn from and network with others in the industry,” says Paul Thomas, NPAIA President.
