NEVIS, Minn. -- An 81-year-old Nevis man died Tuesday after he was pinned underneath his tractor, officials said.
The Hubbard County Sheriff's Office received a call at 6 p.m. Tuesday that a tractor had rolled over and was pinning the driver underneath south of Nevis.
When deputies arrived, they found Jack Karnowski pinned underneath the tractor and unresponsive. Medical first responders tried to give aid to Karnowski, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a release from the sheriff's office.
It appears Karnowski was operating the Ford tractor on a downhill trail when the tractor veered into a steep embankment and rolled, the release said. The accident remains under investigation by the sheriff's office.
