WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Department of Agriculture, at the request of Farm Service Agency’s acting state executive directors in North Dakota, Montana and South Dakota, have declared numerous counties Primary Natural Disaster Areas because of drought conditions.
The Primary Natural Disaster Areas in North Dakota are Dunn, Emmons, Grant, Logan, McIntosh, McKenzie, Mountrail and Sioux counties. Counties in North Dakota contiguous to the Natural Disaster Areas are Adams, Billings, Burke, Burleigh, Dickey, Emmons, Golden Valley, Hettinger, Kidder, LaMoure, McLean, Mercer, Morton, Stark, Stutsman, Ward and Williams counties.
The Primary Natural Disaster Areas in Montana are Dawson, Fallon, Fergus, Petroleum, Phillips, Richland and Rosebud and Wibaux counties. Counties in Montana contiguous to the Natural Disaster Areas are Big Horn, Blaine, Carter, Choteau, Custer, Garfield, Golden Valley, Judith Basin, McCone, Musselshell, Powder River, Prairie, Roosevelt, Treasure, Valley, Wheatland and Yellowstone counties.
The Primary Natural Disaster Areas in South Dakota are Corson and Perkins. Counties in South Dakota contiguous to the Natural Disaster Areas are Butte Campbell, Corson Dewey, Harding, McPherson, Meade, Walworth and Ziebach counties.
The listed counties qualify for natural disaster assistance due to losses and damages caused by a recent drought.
