Live music, food, fun and agriculture knowledge on the schedule for the Agweek Farm Show

The Agweek Farm Show will feature a free meal and free live music from 507 Country, along with important information from ag speakers and cheese curd samples from Little Red Dairy.

ROCHESTER, Minn. — The Agweek Farm Show will feature a free meal and free live music from 507 Country , along with important information from ag speakers and cheese curd samples from Little Red Dairy.

The farm show is sponsored by Wagner Oehler Ltd. and returns to the Olmsted County Fairgrounds March 7-8.

Formerly known as the Agri-News Farm Show, the show is in its 41st year in 2023. This year, Agweek will sponsor a free meal for the first 500 attendees at 5 p.m. on March 7. 507 Country will play at the show until 7 p.m.

Joining the speaker lineup will be Agweek columnist Myron Friesen. Friesen works in farm estate planning and will be speaking about the impacts of higher land prices on estate plans at 1 p.m. on March 8. He also will take questions after his presentation, so anyone wondering about how their farm plans stack up for current prices should check it out.

Other presentations include Martin Larson, speaking about oats marketing, a panel on careers in ag business, an update on transportation related to agriculture from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, and an estate planning session from Wagner Oehler Ltd law firm and Merchants Bank. Also slated to be on hand at the Agweek Farm Show is longtime columnist Mychal Wilmes. Wilmes formerly was the editor of Agri-News in Rochester and still lives in the Rochester area. He will be at the Agweek booth until 2 p.m. both days of the show.

Little Red Dairy, of Thielman, Minnesota, will be offering cheese curd samples from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8. Attendees at the Agweek Farm Show will have the chance to sample cheese curd flavors and vote on their favorite one. The announcement of the Agweek Farm Show Flavor will be made at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday to cap off this year's show.

Olmsted County Pork Producers will be selling lunch at the show on Tuesday, March 7. Three Rivers Cattlemen will be selling lunch on Wednesday, March 8.

The show is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8.

The Graham Arena Complex is located at 1570 Fairgrounds Ave SE, Rochester MN. Free parking is available on the fairgrounds and the show is free for visitors.
