TOKYO -- Agriculture minister Shigeru Ishiba said Friday he will attend an unofficial World Trade Organization ministerial meeting to be held on the sidelines of the five-day annual international meeting of the World Economic Forum now under way in Davos, Switzerland.
Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Toshihiro Nikai will also be there with the agriculture, forestry and fisheries minister. Participants at the WTO meeting are likely to debate how to address rising protectionist tendencies some countries are exhibiting in the face of the global economic crisis.
