The annual North Dakota State University Hettinger Research Extension Center field tour begins at 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 12.
The crop tour begins at the new Agronomy and Range Research Laboratory next to the old Research Center office building. All activities are free and open to the public.
This year's tour includes a spray table demonstration to show differences in drift, and a discussion of small-grain diseases and their management. It’ll also include side-by-side comparisons of new varieties of spring wheat, durum wheat and barley, along with presentations on soybean-planting date and weed-control research.
Following the tour is a free supper at the Granary by Mirror Lake Park sponsored by area businesses and the Hettinger Chamber of Commerce.
