WARSAW - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will lend up to 150 million zlotys ($38.43 million) to Israeli Energix Renewable Energies for a new 50-megawatt (MW) wind farm in north-west Poland, the EBRD said on Monday.

The wind farm, being developed by Energix' Wiatromill, was also granted an additional 120 million zloty loan by Alior Bank and BOS Bank.

"This refinancing is made in respect of the first 50 MW phase of a larger project and we truly hope that the EBRD and other members of the consortium will take an active role in the financing of the next phases," Asa Levinger, Energix CEO was quoted as saying in a statement.

EBRD has financed wind farm projects with a total installed capacity exceeding 900 MW since 1991.

Installed wind farm capacity in Poland has risen from 83 megawatt (MW) to more than 4 gigawatt (GW) this year.
