Don Lilleboe to edit NSA magazine

-- BISMARCK, N.D. The National Sunflower Association says Don Lilleboe will be the contributing writer and editor of The Sunflower magazine. Lilleboe succeeds Tracy Sayler, who died suddenly. Lilleboe, who has been a contributing writer and adviser the last seven years while Sayler was the editor, had been editor of The Sunflower for much of the time since the magazine was started in the mid-1970s.

Jim Ostlie joins MDA staff-- ST. PAUL The Minnesota Department of Agriculture has added Jim Ostlie, former Kandiyohi County, Minn., feedlot officer, to its livestock development team. Ostlie will work with new and existing farmers to help them with issues such as nutrient management, financing, siting and permitting.

Robert Gordon to serve on MGEX board-- OMAHA, Neb. DTN, a business-to-business provider of real-time market, news and weather information services, says Robert Gordon, DTN chief executive officer, has been appointed to serve as a 2007 to '08 public director by the Minnesota Grain Exchange Board of Directors. Gordon was one of three new members appointed by the organization and will serve a one year-term. He joins Curt Denisuik, director of commodity risk management, Canadian Wheat Board; James S. Ginsburg, managing partner, Vernon & Park Capital L.P.; and William R. Power.

ADM appoints Janet Mann to lead new chemical group-- DECATUR, Ill. Archer Daniels Midland Co. has formed an industrial chemicals group with a focus on dramatically increasing ADM's presence in industrial markets. This business will leverage ADM's processing expertise, fermentation and separation technologies and global distribution network to expand ADM's product offerings in industrial chemicals by working to commercialize additional chemicals from renewable feedstocks. To lead the new industrial chemicals business, ADM has hired Janet Mann as general manager, industrial chemicals. Mann joins ADM from Chemtura Corp., where she was vice president and general manager, Performance Specialties. Mann previously served as business director for The Dow Chemical Co. and executive vice president of Dow's ANGUS Chemical subsidiary. She received a master of business administration degree in finance from DePaul University and a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Bradley University.

Sarah Olson joins NMPF staff-- ARLINGTON, Va. Sarah Olson has joined the NMPF communications department as the communications coordinator. Originally from Montgomery, Minn., she graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn., in May. She moved to the Washington area in August with her husband. Olson will be taking over communications responsibilities for Mary Knigge, who now will be the manager, government relations and trade.
