WINNIPEG -- The Canadian Wheat Board is reporting the highest wheat exports in nine years and the second-highest overall grain revenues in its history.
The organization says it exported 18.5 million tonnes of wheat, durum and barley during the crop year that ends Friday.
That's one million tonnes more than last year and the highest level since 2000.
The board's net revenue is estimated at more than $6 billion -- second only to last year's $7.2 billion.
Board president Ian White credits record exports of malting barley and growth in new markets such as Iran and Saudia Arabia.

The board cautions this year will be affected by cold weather, causing all wheat production to drop by 20 per cent to 20.2 million tonnes.
