The 31st annual Dakota Cowboy Poetry Gathering will be held May 27-28 at the Community Center in Medora, N.D.

The event - launched in 1987 by Sentinel Butte, N,D., rancher Bill Lowman - offers a free "all comers welcome" afternoon session for poets and singers on both days.

There also are evening sessions on both days for which an admission fee is charged.

The 7 p.m., Saturday, May 27, session features poets and singers from several states.

Activities on Sunday, May 28, begin at 9 a.m., with cowboy gospel singing. Another round of free cowboy poetry and singing begins at 1 p.m. The weekend is capped off by the 7 p.m. Sunday show, which again features poets and singers from several states; Bill Lowman emcees this show.
