PIERRE, S.D. -- Families that want to receive Century Farm recognition at the South Dakota State Fair have until Aug. 20 to apply.
The Century Farm program recognizes farms or ranches where at least 80 acres of original land have been owned by the same family for 100 years or more. Nearly 2,100 have been recognized already.
The Century Farm program is sponsored by the South Dakota Farm Bureau and the state Department of Agriculture.
