Cattle barn destroyed near New York Mills

A cattle barn southeast of New York Mills was destroyed by fire early Wednesday morning, Feb. 6.

Firefighters were called to the scene of the fire at 6:02 a.m. The location of the blaze was near the intersection of Highways 106 and 142.

Inside the cattle barn were 11 cows, a tractor, Bobcat and other farm-style equipment. None of the animals were able to be saved.

As of Thursday, Feb. 7, the incident was still under investigation by the New York Mills Fire Department and Otter Tail County Sheriff Office.

Assisting at the scene were fire department personnel from Bluffton and Deer Creek.
