Stroh takes 14th in saddle bronc riding at National High School Finals Rodeo

GILLETTE, Wyo. -- Qwint Stroh of Dickinson, N.D., turned in a 72-point saddle bronc ride during Saturday's short go at the National High School Rodeo Finals. He placed seventh among the riders in the final round, and he finished 14th overall.

GILLETTE, Wyo. - Qwint Stroh of Dickinson, N.D., turned in a 72-point saddle bronc ride during Saturday's short go at the National High School Rodeo Finals. He placed seventh among the riders in the final round, and he finished 14th overall.

Stroh tallied 75 points in his first ride earlier in the week, and that was enough to sneak him into the top 20 for the short go despite not registering a score in his second ride. His 72-point ride in the final gave him an average of 147 points. Houston Brown of Miles City, Mont., topped all riders with an average of 234.

Keenan Pierce, also of Dickinson, finished 18th overall in the steer wrestling with an average of 21.11 seconds. He did not record a time during Saturday's short go.

Dickinson's Matteah Dworshak finished 36th overall in the pole bending with an average of 41.879.

Dickinson's Annie Praus was 76th overall in the cow cutting with an average of 265.

Brendan Butterfield of Richardton, N.D., placed 10th in the final and 10th overall in the tie-down roping competition. He turned in a time of 14.36 in the short go, and he finished with a final average of 40.5 seconds. Butterfield also finished 56th overall in the cow cutting.

Anna Jorgenson of Watford City, N.D., was ninth in Saturday's final of the breakaway roping with a time of 3.53 seconds. She placed sixth overall with an average of 8.99 seconds. Jorgenson was also 142nd in the pole bending.

Jayden Olson of Taylor, N.D., missed out on the top 20 of the bareback riding and finished 27th overall. Ryan Walker of Kildeer, N.D., placed 27th overall in the bull riding, and Manning's Riley Reiss was 52nd overall in the steer wrestling.
