If you've been involved in agriculture long enough, you'll probably remember when switchgrass draw a lot of attention as a biofuel source.
Now, a study from the University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources has found that switchgrass, a perennial plant, improves soil quality and can be grown on farms that have lost fertile topsoil.
Stephen Anderson, a professor of soil science at the University of Missouri and one of the study's authors, says switchgrass could be a good option for farmers who have challenges with growing other crops, providing they have a good market for switchgrass
