The North Dakota Department of Agriculture will host a public hearing this week to review the state noxious weeds list.

Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring said it's a chance for farmers, ranchers, applicators, landowners and others to offer input on the current list of weeds that are considered harmful to animals or the environment.

State law requires a public review of the list every five years. The last assessment was in January 2010.

The review starts at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Capitol. People who can't attend in person may call in. And written comments will be taken until March 26.

There's also an online survey about which weeds should be included: www.surveymonkey.com/s/MPCCL32 .
