NDSU issues new soybean growing guidelines

The new guidelines don't advise putting on nitrogen, plus phosphate and foliar fertilizer recommendations have been lowered.

NDSU Extension has issued new guidelines for soybean growers for the first time in a decade. Extension Soil Specialist Dave Franzen says despite challenges in the market, there is some good news for soybean growers. For one thing, fertilizer prices are down, and he says the new guidelines don't advise putting on nitrogen, plus phosphate and foliar fertilizer recommendations have been lowered. In fact, he says about half the information in their soybean circular has been updated.
