The Minnesota Beef Research and Promotion Council is seeking candidates for its board elections, including candidates from Douglas County in District 4.
Candidates will be selected through mail ballot elections conducted by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture in March. The candidate registration deadline is Jan. 25, 2017.
These farmers/leaders will serve a three-year term directing the investment of the council's check-off program. Nominees are required to reside within the area to be represented. Council members shall be residents of the state of Minnesota of legal voting age and be participating cattle producers or feeders.
Those interested in running for the vacant positions will need to complete the candidate registration forms, which can be found at www.mnbeef.org/boardofdirectors.aspx . Farmers and ranchers must be certified producers with the Minnesota Beef Council to receive a ballot.
