G3 Canada Ltd. is building another grain elevator, this one near Morinville, Alberta, north of Edmonton, Alberta.
The new facility, just west of Morinville on the north side of Highway No. 642, will be able to unload trucks in less than five minutes. It will load 150-car trains under continuous motion on a loop track system, keeping grain moving to market, and is located on CN Rail.
Construction of the 42,000-metric-ton facility will begin shortly, subject to regulatory approval. It's expected to be finished in 2020.
"This is part of a growing network of high-efficiency facilities that is speeding up the movement of grain in Canada and around the world," G3 CEO Don Chapman said in a written statement. . "But it all starts with the farmers, and we're looking forward to putting our industry-leading efficiency and customer service to work to earn their business at G3 Morinville."
G3 Canada also is building three previously announced elevators-two in Alberta, at Wetaskiwin, and Carmangay, and one at Mainstone, Saskatchewan, and recently opened new elevators in Saskatchewan, near Melville and Saskatoon.

Construction of a new G3 Canada export terminal in Vancouver is underway, as well. It's scheduled to open in 2020.
G3 Canada, the successor to the former Canadian Wheat Board, is based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It buys grain from across Canada, which it markets to customers worldwide.
