MAYNARD, Minn. -- A person was killed Monday afternoon after being run over by a combine near Maynard in western Minnesota.

The Renville County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that the preliminary investigation shows the victim was approaching the rear of the combine unbeknownst to the driver and was run over by the rear wheels. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff's office was not releasing names pending the notification of family members and did not indicate gender or age in the release.
