AgweekTV: Ag Credit Concerns
A man who spent 25 years in ag and rural banking with the American Bankers Association in Washington says he's concerned about the debt positions of some farmers.
John Blanchfield was a keynote speaker at a recent ag credit conference in Fargo. He now works for a Maryland company that helps community banks improve their ag lending efforts through both the credit and "human component."
Blanchfield says he has three main concerns: how long the current low price period lasts, interest rates and how banks relate with their farm customers.
