"First Fridays" food conversations begin in Fargo-Moorhead

MOORHEAD, Minn. - First Fridays @ B with the Cass Clay Food Action Network, a new platform to engage and discuss important food topics in the greater Fargo-Moorhead food community will hold its first event at 8 a.m. on Friday, January 5 at Theatre B (215 10th St N., Moorhead).

Hosted by Ugly Food of the North and the Cass Clay Food Partners, First Fridays @ B is a food-focused monthly meetup that will include announcements about upcoming events or projects, a featured presentation from food leaders in our community, and an audience Q&A with the presenters to discuss how our community can best support this work. The goal of First Fridays is to accelerate progress and build connections within the Fargo-Moorhead food community, with the hope of actualizing the mission of the Cass Clay Food Partners - to ensure that all residents have access to safe, nutritious, affordable and culturally-based food.

The inaugural speakers are the organizers of Growing Together ~ A Community Garden Ministry, the largest community gardening organization in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Jack Wood, Nola J. Storm & Simeon Bakunda will present the story of Growing Together and how their gardens are making an impact in the community. Post presentation, there will be time for Q&A with the audience. A surprise special edition to this First Friday will be presenting a proclamation signed by Mayor Tim Mahoney declaring Jack Wood the Garden Czar of Fargo!
