Casselton, ND (WDAY TV) - It's an international problem that's hitting close to home. Midwest food exporters can't get their products out of the country soon enough, because of a lack of shipping containers on trains.
This year's harvest is coming to an end, and SB&B Farms are working around the clock to get these crops thousands of miles away. But it may be in vain.

WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) _ Officials say the Big Iron Farm Show is drawing about 130 farm equipment buyers from around the world to West Fargo.
The state's International Visitors Program is aimed at international buyers. Lt. Gov. Jack Dalrymple says buyers have registered to attend Big Iron from former Soviet states, Canada, Germany and other countries, They include representatives of Ukraine's largest used farm equipment dealer.

The animals UW-River Falls’ lab farms produce many different babies this time of year. A visit to both locations – Wasson Lane and Mann Valley – revealed calves, colts, fillies and lambs. Lab farm Director Bill Connolly said piglets are so susceptible to germs and disease that they stay in an off-limits barn until they’re old enough to join the other swine.

Pat Jarding, Alexandria, harvests a field of corn Monday near Fulton. As of last week, the state’s exceptional corn crop was approximately 50 percent in the bin, according to the National Agriculture Statistics Service. At this time last year, the crop was about 56 percent harvested.
