A collage of some of our readers' favorite farm photos of 2017 (Jenny Schlecht/Agweek)

Farm photos of 2017 from our readers show life in agriculture

Here at Agweek, we’ve been working on a number of year-end and best-of-2017 stories. They’re typical stories written and put together in newsrooms across the country and probably the world.

But as we were working, we realized that we should include a look at what the year looked like for our readers. We put out a quick request for photos on our Facebook and Twitter accounts.

And, boy oh boy, did our readers come through.

In about 24 hours, we received nearly 70 photos from across the U.S. and Canada. We have photos of kids on the farm, of crops in field as well as being planted and harvested. There are cattle and sheep. And there are sunsets, sunrises and rainbows galore.

The photos tell stories of hardships — like burnt-up combines and dusty dry pastures — and of good crops and good times. Some might make you cry, but others likely will make you laugh — like one of a farmer wakeboarding through a wet field.

Here are all of the photos, with information about where they came from and some stories behind them.
