NE ND farmer picked to lead state’s Farm Service Agency
PORTLAND, N.D. -- President Donald Trump has chosen a Traill County farmer from northeast North Dakota to lead the Farm Service Agency in North Dakota.
Trump recently appointed Brad Thykeson of Portland, N.D., to be the state executive director for the U.S. Department of Agriculture agency, according to a news release Friday. Thykeson owns a family farming operation in Barnes and Steele counties, according to the release.
The FSA offers various programs to assist farmers, ranchers and agricultural partners and is widely known for commodity and disaster aid.
