MWBC partners to host Ag Technology Roundtable
Bozeman, Mont. — The Montana Wheat and Barley Committee has partnered with the German American Chamber of Commerce to host a roundtable discussion of agricultural technologies on Sept. 14 at 1:00PM at the GranTree Inn in Bozeman.
The roundtable will focus on the current state and future of “smart farming” and precision agriculture in the United States and Germany. The event will include presentations by farmers and researchers from both Montana and Germany. Attendees will learn more about precision agriculture tools and other technologies that may be implemented on the farm today, as well as what the future may hold for on-farm technological advancements. Dr. Bruce Maxwell will discuss using big data to make better farming decisions and Dr. Joe Shaw will make a presentation on the future of optics in precision ag. Other speakers include Dr. Charles Boyer, Dean of the Montana State University College of Agriculture, Marcus Hotlkotter, German farmer and social media expert, and many others.
