Extension Roundup still a go

The 37th annual Roundup, set for today and Jan. 4 at the Memorial Building in downtown Devils Lake, N.D., is being held as scheduled, despite a winter storm hammering northeast North Dakota.

Devils Lake, in Ramsey County in north-central North Dakota, is on the western edge of the storm. A winter storm warning remains in affect until noon today for northeast North Dakota, as well as several other counties, including Ramsey.

The storm is expected to continue this morning, diminishing by noon, according to the National Weather Service.

Wednesday's weather is expected to bring colder temperatures, but less wind and snow. Agweek plans to attend Roundup on Wednesday.

Typically, about 700 people attend Roundup. Speakers, primarily from the extension service, commodity groups and private companies, address crops, weeds, livestock, marketing, crop insurance and many other subjects.

All sessions are free and open to the public. Registration isn't required. Free breakfast and lunch will be offered both days.
