July 18-19 the annual 'Art in the Park'  juried craft fair includes a community created pageant produced by  'In the Heart of the Beast' Puppet & Mask Theater, staged at waterfront of Lake Bemidji. The creativity and message of the pageant will speak to hearts and minds of all ages. Lake Bemidji Dragon Boat Festival features two full days of fun for the entire family. Spectators can view the entire race course from the shady and natural amphitheater of the waterfront park venue.  Great food, music, kid's activities, a parade of teams, downtown Crazy Dayz shopping and much more make this the event of the year!   FIRST CITY OF ARTS Visual, theater and musical art opportunities flourish in the Bemidji area.  Stroll along the downtown Art Walk  to discover sculptures, murals and galleries on street corners and buildings.
