The biggest farm show in northwestern North Dakota is under way in Williston this week.
The 57th annual National Hard Spring Wheat Show runs through Wednesday.
One of the big topics at this year’s show is farm ownership succession. University of Nebraska agribusiness professor Ron Hanson is a keynote speaker.
Crop biotechnology and wind energy development also will be topics.
Farmers and agriculture industry officials are gathering in Williston for the Mon-Dak Ag Open.
It’s the 12th year for the annual event. The goal is to promote agricultural development in northwest North Dakota.
Tom Rolfstad with the Williston Department of Economic Development said the region has several strengths, particularly the availability of irrigation.
Events are scheduled through Thursday.
