Mitchell-area farmer indicted by grand jury of rare grain crime.
The case of a rural Mitchell man charged with stealing corn has caused some farmers to install more security, especially at isolated sites.
The Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the report of a stolen grain auger.
A 91-foot Westfield Mk-130 was reported stolen sometime between Saturday evening and Sunday morning from its owner near Spiritwood Lake. The auger is red and yellow in color and is valued at $17,000, said Jason Falk, detective for the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office at 252-9000.
