SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — A South Dakota banker making a routine trip to a southwest Minnesota farm ended up saving the farmer’s life.
Everett Vande Voort, 74, became trapped in a bin of swirling corn earlier this month on his farm near Beaver Creek.
The non-profit organization Farm Rescue has received $5,000 from CoBank, a Denver-based financial services institution serving agricultural co-ops and other businesses in North Dakota and across the United States. CoBank made the contribution on behalf of Everett Dobrinski, the operator of a cereal-grain and oilseed farm in Makoti, N.D., and the chairman of the bank’s board.
