WASHINGTON — As the Senate makes plans to take up the farm bill, the Environmental Working Group last week released a study of crop insurance that shows some farms get big premium subsidies including those in North Dakota and Minnesota and urged Congress to consider releasing the names of crop insurance beneficiaries and putting limits on the subsidies.
WASHINGTON — The Justice Department will continue to advise the Agriculture Department on the USDA Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration’s rewrite of the rule governing the Packers and Stockyards Act, outgoing Assistant Attorney General Christine Varney said July 12.
They’re called “community gardens.” And at two local schools, they’re producing a bumper crop of goodness – excited students, a new way of learning, healthy meals for hungry families, new partnerships and more.
